Job Attainment

Job Attainment skills will help you to find and pursue a position in your own career pathway.  Mastering these skills will help you when you have finally decided on your career.

Job Attainment requirements:

  • Fill out a fact sheet and a job application for an entry level position (if you have not done this before).

  • Develop a resume for your specified pathway of interest

Values & Goals

Values and Goals are important when deciding where and how you want to live your life.  Personal values help us to develop who we are and what type of person we will plan to be.  Values help us to identify who we are going to be and goals help us to make decisions for a successful outcome.

Values and Goals requirements:

  • Identify what your values are

  • Identify what a personal goal and an academic or career goal

Job Survival is about the skills necessary to keep a job once you have found one.  Any career you choose will require a necessary set of skills that are useful in many situations and environments.

Job Survival Requirements:

  • Time management - During time given in class you will be assessed for your use of time.  This project will be due in the future.  If you use your time wisely and have good attendance, you should be able to complete your project in class without having to take your work home.

  • Follow directions - Your directions for this project have been laid out on a website, which you are visiting right now.  Be sure to read through the directions thouroughly.

  • Practice effective human relations - Your behavior in class while working on the assignment will be taken into account.  Drama, leaving others out, antagonizing, acting immaturely or any other negative behavior will take away from your project through points.  There is a place and time for these behaviors.
